Absztrakt
A tanulmány a magyar liberális demokrácia válságának és sodródásának felgyorsuló folyamatát vizsgálja. A komplex válságnak egyszerre oka és következménye, hogy rendkívüli mértékben megnőtt a hazai szavazóközönségen belül a bizonytalan, a teljesen közömbös és a túlzottan pártos csoportok aránya. A kutatás elsősorban azokat az okokat veszi sorra, amelyek előidézték és tovább erősítik ezt a folyamatot. A formális intézményeken túl szükség van a társadalmi integráció és bizalom, valamint a demokratikus állampolgári kultúra megfelelő szintjére, amely az elszabadulni akaró hatalmi törekvéseket sikeresebben tudná kordában tartani. Ezek kiépítése hosszabb ideig tartó, de elengedhetetlen részei a modern demokráciák számára. Erre a tanulságra a jelenlegi hatalomkoncentráció természetéből is fakadó elkerülhetetlen kudarc és újraépítkezés idején kell a társadalomnak emlékeznie.

Abstract
This study investigates the accelerating process of the crisis and drifting of the Hungarian liberal democracy. The dramatically increasing number of the uncertain, apathetic and fanatic Hungarian voters is both the cause and the consequence of a complex crisis. Our research focuses on the social factors that have caused and intensified this negative process. Beyond the formal institutions, an appropriate level of social integration, trust, and democratic civic culture is needed to motivate the voters to a conscious political participation and to take control of the power’s intemperate ambitions. The implementation of the required changes may take a long time, but these things are essential elements of modern democracies. If the current political leadership does not, or cannot learn a lesson, its fall is inevitable due to the excessive concentration of power.
